Multi-Agency Intermediary

Brendan James Financial is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as a multi-agency intermediary and has appointments with over 15 product producers.

We offer fee based advice to clients that need access to the widest possible number of providers in the marketplace. In so doing, we ensure that clients get advice that is suited to their needs and is as impartial as possible.

Our regulatory number with the Central Bank is C57050 and we are authorised under Section 10 of the Investment Intermediaries Act 1995(as amended) and are authorised mortgage intermediaries on behalf of KBC Bank Ireland plc and PIBA Network Services Ltd. As a multi-agency intermediary, Seán Mac Sheamais t/a Brendan James Financial Services is authorised to receive and transmit orders to product producers from whom a letter of appointment is held in writing.

Consumer Protection Code

The Consumer Protection Code was a key conumer protection introduced in 2006, and later updated in 2012. The purpose of the code is to ensure that regulated firms must have a similar level of requirements that seeks to protect the interests of consumers regardless of finanical services provider.

Fitness and Probity Standards

A new regime came into effect on 1 December 2011 whereby all financial service providers must ensure that all key indviduals in a firm must meet minimum fitness and probity standards and be:

• competent and capable
• honest,ethical and act with integrity and;
• be financially sound

Minimum Competency Code

All advisors with Brendan James Financial Services have attained recognised qualifications and adhere to ongoing Continuous Professional development to ensure that clients continue to access and benefit from the very best in financial advice.

Brendan James Financial Services adhere to all the above codes and maintains at all times Professional Indemnity Insurance and is a member of the Investor Compensation Fund.
